To maximize the value of a Software documentation system used by Software Teams, it should be used by all Software Team members. The more input (documentation) that goes into the system, the greater its value will be, because there is a greater chance of finding answers to your questions. Conversely, if the system is not widely adopted, it will have minimal input, and not as much value.
In order to maximize the number of users of the Software documentation system, every user should find so much value (or potential value) that they are compelled to continually use the system. The Software documentation system must convey to the user that it is a viable investment of their Team’s time and effort. Otherwise, there will be reluctance to use the tool, and it will end up being abandoned at some point in the future, ultimately resulting in a waste of time and resources.
However, with a high rate of adoption, as the Software documentation system continually grows, it will continually provide an increased amount of value, thereby creating the feedback loop required to make it a success and provide a positive ROI.
